yea, it's not F-spaced at all. Looks like an ordinary humbucker in fender clothing. still might be good sounding though, I don't know.

I'm not quite following you 100% here - although I know westtexasred's Custom is the Real Deal, the polepieces look like they are slightly off the strings in that shot. On my Squier it's pretty clear from the other pic that the polepieces align exactly with the strings, and that's true "in person" as well.
One other factor is that I believe the MIJ guitars have metric spaced strings and I think the US Fenders have slightly narrower spacing, I found that when I tried to stick an AVRI pickup under the MIJ cover on my Jaguar.
When I took the Tele Custom apart today I backed off the "hidden" polepieces on the neck bucker, and the thing cleared up a LOT, it sounds like a heavier single coil now, albeit slightly less clear. I would try 1M pots but I am not going to mod this guitar. One minor problem is that the B string got loud for some reason, I have had to screw its polepiece right down, and the G polepiece right up.
So, you know, when you buy one, you can do that.

yea, they don't line up, exactly. fender neck pickups don't line up. it's always spaced a little wide. but they line up perfect on this guitar. is that a bad thing? well, no, it's just not like the OG pickups.

I wasn't trying to knock it or anything, I was just looking for differences between the pickups.
