Nah, its a GFS one. Rated at 10k so not as hot as a Fs-1.Fran wrote:I have Strat pups lying around, ideally i would like a DiMarzio Fs-1 but i guess you haven'nt got one of them?Noirie. wrote:Will you be needing that strat pickup then?

Dude, if you weren't going to use it, why did you whine when I bought the set from James?Noirie. wrote:Nah, its a GFS one. I sent it to you because you bitched and now you're going to give it away? I spent £30 on those pickups and some money getting the other set to you, if anyone is getting it gratis, it's me.

Control cavity routed this morning, sanded back and last coat of sanding sealer applied.
Not much spare time with the rest of this week but the next stage is the dreaded painting. Next door has an Air Brush which i am tempted to borrow, i really dont fancy struggling with aerosols again, plus they seem economically inefficient.

What are peoples thoughts to a neck with binding going on this? Would it look too none Mosrite despite having the same headstock?

Cheers dude, yeah its a tracing of Reeces guyatone.Black Cat Bone wrote:This is awesome - did you take a tracing for this at Doogfest or am I making things up?
I will say at this point, the curve of the Mosrite guard i have does not exactly flow with the Guyatone tracing. But its not offensive to the eye.
Damn- I just missed a 3-a-side set of Grovers i was watching on 'bay... fookin £13 they went for

Thanks guys.
Im getting a bit over-excited myself now dare i say, want it painted like yesterday. But im working the next four days which should allow me to gather some patience and some of the parts may have arrived by then too.
On the way:
1/ TOM & Tailpiece
2/ 3-a-side neck w/binding
Total cost so far: £60
Bizarrely i have the exact (odd) knobs i need, i have some machine heads although technically i should get Grovers. But the one thing i despise buying is the Mini Humbucker, the cheapest i can find is an Artec version at £40.

if you're not planning on making it functional just see if you can get hold of a cover and stick it on. or carve one out of a lump of MDF and spray it silver!Fran wrote:even down to the disconnected mini humbucker.
