Drummer has the headphones for monitoring, he gets the vocal mix and some guitars folded back to him, we also play to a click to keep ourselves in check which goes into his headphones. We've been practising like this for a while, we're an energetic bunch of muppets and we clatter through the tunes at 150% tempo live unless we're careful. We've been listening to soundboards and we're definitely getting much better.

ah, that's quite a good idea. most venues we play in it's a noteworthy event if drumbo can hear so much as his own kick drum, never mind what i'm singing.

Oh, also the Rhodes Piano belonged to Prog Act Sanguine Hum and was played by none other than ex Snooker World Champion Steve Davis's Son, the man himself was also in attendance.

Weird gig, man. Apparently they're now called "Antique Seeking Nuns"

god, imagine if steve davis was your dad... *arsecake*

i'm fairly certain someone in my year at college was the spawn of that awful guy from OMD, and someone i knew had a friend who was tony iommi's lovechild. there was also the rumour that a girl in the year above's dad was the guy who did fingerbobs, although i'm not convinced about that one.

He actually seemed quite jolly, nice to see him supporting his kid's music, as difficult as it was.

10 minute Zappa Medley anyone?

I love how the lack of feet, and therefore perspective, in the picture almost makes it look like you're a tiiiiiiiiiiiny baby man.

Fuck.

Your.

Self.

Briers.

Steve Davis music fact: he is an enormous fan of french prog rock acts (start with Gong then head skywards from there), and when he was unable to get hold of various rare french prog pressings, he used his snooker winnings to finance his own record label releasing said noodlings. Top boy, I reckon.
