I got it for that price on ebay when they first came out.I don't think they even had a distributor. From Whitebridge they're 229.95 or something like that.St. Jimmy wrote:127 bucks for an archtop and case?! WTF?!
dude, how does it SOND? if it's half way decent, I found my next guitar...goddamn it...
My daughter's guitar is black w/tort pg and black hardware..It plays well after I set it up.Sounds good through many settings on my G-DEC 30.The only problem I had was the jack fell inside the guitar when I received it.The guy credited me $30 so he didn't have to deal with returning it and shit and I just got a nut for the jack and put it back in..The original price was 157.50.Well worth the price I paid and probably worth the 229.
They're made in U.S.A. South Carolina or Virginia or some other southern state..I forgot.

Why do people always expect to replace the pups... underpowered can be cooooooooooooooooool. Those pups might be unique and totally worth keeping.damienblair17 wrote:I think I may grab an SG junior and put in a GFS p90. Question is, do I get a red one, or a black one and put in the cream colored pickup?

You may be right. I'm really just thinking of color combos.endsjustifymeans wrote:Why do people always expect to replace the pups... underpowered can be cooooooooooooooooool. yea, it's more about ceramic vs. alnico. most ceramic pickups sound pretty thin and lifeless. I think higher output ceramic pickups can sound pretty good though. ceramic P-90s can sound monstrous. Will wrote:I don't know they'd be underpowered. I just find ceramic PUPs have more buzz than alnico.
cogito ergo sum...thing or other...
because 9 times out of 10, its not the pickups being underpowered thats the problem. its them sounding like shit and possibly failing 2 months down the road thats the problem. If you replace those pups, replace the entire electronics, pup, wires, pots, caps, jacks, everything. Its totally worth it because the parts the Chinese use in budget guitars is 9/10 times total shit.endsjustifymeans wrote:Why do people always expect to replace the pups... underpowered can be cooooooooooooooooool. yes. wires. they conduct electricity. budget, shitty wire can break easily with little stress, or be "multistranded" and in reality have a lot of insulation and only a few very small wires rather then a whole lot of very small wires. They can also be made with sub-standard metals, have high capacitance, etc. WIRES MOTHERFUCKER. DONT UNDERESTIMATE TEH WIORZ.Shaguar wrote:Yeah....ok.Markn951 wrote:entire electronics, pup, wires, pots, caps, jacks, everything. Uhm... no... they don't. What they do have is poor QC and they do often demand a bit of effort out of the box.Sparky wrote:Cheap guitars have uncomfortable necks and frets. Fix that!

This. My first guitar was an Epiphone SG Special, and I still have only played a handful of guitars that had a neck as comfy as that one did. Soooo sexy, plus I sanded it down just the tiniest bit to rough up the gloss finish and make it ghetto satin. jeez that was something else. Otherwise the guitar was absolute garbage, though.endsjustifymeans wrote:Uhm... no... they don't.
