I think more than a little of it might be to do with the fact he was constantly trying to stir up inter-board crapfests when he was posting here.

That and the fact that widdly metal is so arbitrary.

dude. we're in the same generation pretty much. message boards didn't really exist like this...not in popularity wise...and i know I pissed the fuck outta some peeps in AOL chatrooms (lol) at that age...so i'm willing to give him a flyer on some of the "Asshole" behavior as just being a 15 year old, horomonal kid who was shit on pretty heavily and responded in kind...and then proceeded to do EVERYTHING he was told incessantly he wouldn't/couldn't do by people here. and now that he's done it, of course those same people are going to shit all over the work he did to save face because they were just PWND by a 15 year old.

I'm not saying he's going to be master luthier, but part of art is the process of trial and error, and failing miserably...if in 20 years this kid is a master luthier, he'll have a lot of Suckit, Shortscale Points to spend.

ha ha. make no mistake. i'm not saying his skills are top notch right now...but fuck's sake, at his age i was so ham-fistedly playing instruments it's EMBARASSING. and i never would've even THOUGHT to build a guitar...especially from a black piece of wood...so i'm just perspective on the kid's age and experience is really something that's missing, and ALWAYS has been with him.

I know this is sort of a side debate, but I hate the way people hate on music that is difficult to play. Musically, how hard it is doesn't matter a fuck. Not liking fast music is like not liking yellow food. It's just one feature of a piece that doesn't make it good or bad or anything else.

This is why I really prefer modern classical music. It's much, much less snobby than popular music. You can do whatever you like, and nobody dismisses it straight away. People in that scene (or whatever, dunno if you could call it a scene) tend to try very hard to engage in whatever music they have in front of them, and usually regard not liking it as a sort of failure, and an inability to engage or understand it. I have composition lecturers who love Meshuggah as well as everything else. I've sat talking about the blues with them, or sat in a tutorial whilst another guy in my class talked about his folk band for a while.

That's the way it should be.

Has anyone played the "ya'll's just jealous" card yet? I know I'm jealous. Kinda wish I had the ability to tell my 15 year old self that Warhammer will get you nowhere in life and the opposite of laid.

I only see good things with the video, some kid designed a guitar, built it and plays the stuff he likes: reasonably well considering his age. PLUS he's having FUN along the way. I'd say his future is looking pretty good based on that.

Im disappointed with the blinkered crap in this thread, if he had built a b&b surf green Jaguar and played some seminal four chord progression through a fuzz box and Looper he would be cool as fuck. Whats wrong with everyone?
