I love the color...which is my only problem with the current '65 reissues. What do you guys think?

Also, what are some reliable sites where I can buy Fender Japan products from? Thanks.

i think it is maui blue, i have seen other maui's and the color seems like it just naturally aged slightly into a pale blue.
either way, you would think that they would try and get the pickguard to fit a bit better if it was going to be used as an advertisement picture.

It's a 65 reissue, the pickguard is supposed to look like it shrank like a vintage one.

EDIT: (To the OP) And I'd say it's highly unlikely that we'll be seeing any of these officially imported to the US.

color is beautiful, so by that reasoning alone, i doubt fender will bring these to the usa.

for future reference, rustoleum makes a spray paint in a color very similar to this. it's called "caribbean blue".

the picture makes it look lighter than it is. it's not lacquer or anything, but with enough clear, it could make a decent finish.

I apologize to anyone with a piping hot mug of something nestled between their legs for posting this picture, as they may now be scalded for life down both thighs.

I know it's been posted before, I just really like it. want to paint my homemade tele custom like that one day.

is that the one at hollywood vintage? they wouldn't let me anywhere near that thing. and i seem to remember it being outrageously overpriced.

No contours?

Do the current CIJ 65 reissues have contours?
