Going rate for a Jag-stang these days?

Post by hwestman »

I recently saw a classified where a guy offers a Jag-stang for the equivalent of USD 2000,-!

Isn't that totally unrealistic? Or have they become collectible?

To me it's just an incredibly ugly guitar... but what do I know?

I always preferred the Venus, tbh.

Um, about £350 for the 'reissue', moar for the originals in good condition with the right stickers. Blue ones go for more than red ones.

Thanks!

That confirms my suspicion that the seller is living in a world of make believe...

Sellers have been trying it on for well over a year now. I've seen them listed at £650.00 (ROLF) but i've also seen them sell for under £250.
The JS is a weird one, on the right day you can catch a very good deal.
Cyclones and Toronados seem to be going down the same route as well. I saw a Toronado the same as mine sell at £305 last week with 6 bids yet there is one on bay this week at £225 'buy it now' and no one has touched it :?

i have seen/known people to pay 700 for one used.
i paid 360 for my 96 in 98 or so. I bought a re-issue for around the same price, and then sold it to fran for around the same price.

eBay can be weird like that. I bought my Jag-Stang for £350 new in 1998 and sold it around 2007 for £350.

Before the recession I remember seeing mint condition blue 95/96 Jagstangs peak on eBay for $900-$1000.

All other Jagstangs were going for anywhere between $450-$800 depending on color, case options and condition.
Now they seem to be going for $400-600 (95/96'ers included).

left-handed models always used to go for a bunch more. Still the case?
