Reverb is way subtle. Sounds like it's a little bit hard in the response and sterile which is natural for a solid state amp I guess.

Would be interesting to hear how it handles pedals.

Sounds markedly better into the 4x12, completely unsurprisingly.

Q: What is the difference between the Lunchbox and the Lunchbox2?
A: Nothing really, there is no production on the original Lunchbox anymore so every Lunchbox is a Lunchbox2.

Aah.

Yeah, it's not a valvey-sounding beast by any means, but I've read it takes pedals pretty well. Probably comparable to a Jazz Chorus, which sounded PHAT with my RAT.

The reverb on the BOX is supposed to be more like a very subtle ambience to get somewhere close to an open backed combo sound.

Dammit, Thomann can only offer this in the "lunchbox" stakes:

*ding!*

interest piqued. i could see myself with one of these and a wee cab to save my back. i don't really like that fender i bought to replace the JC120. sounds ghey.

i'd been looking at crate powerblocks a while back but they've been discontinued and aren't particularly cheap on ebay.

Size doesn't equal wattage handling.

Car speakers, compartment not trunk rattlers, are usually 4"-6"s or 6x9". They're usually rated up to about 250 watts RMS for the aftermarket stuff. That's 500w by bullshit marketing standards.

I looked into them a while back, but I have a hard time believing they'd really be loud enough to "gig" with.

At a certain point, it doesn't matter how much wattage you put into a speaker - the speaker itself cannot move beyond a physical limit, and therefore cannot move anymore air. I'd really love to be proven wrong, though.

Hi-Fi speakers that are the same sort of size as that can put out gig volumes.

To gig I'd think this would need to at least be put through a 2x12. But if you're amps are all mic'd up... what's it matter. turn down a bit and let the PA do the work.

I've got one of those lil' smokey .5 or 1 watt amps, actually sounds great through my 4x12 amazingly. PRetty amazing for something packaged in a pack of cigarettes. Definitely not loud enough to gig with though...

My lunchbox fell off my halfstack while plugged in & turned on. It took about a 4' tumble. Completely my fault.
