And I payed $60 at a pawn shop!

I haven't plugged this in yet and I understand the pickups stand to be quite shitty but acoustically, it sounds pretty godamn amazing, especially for the price. I have no idea how much these went for at retail but the "handcrafted in Indonesia" tag inside suggests it wasn't alot. Sofar as I can tell, it's made out of solid maple and the Grovers installed work. That's all I expect tunes to do, really. The neck is super duper slim... Maybe too much so, for my likes but at $60, I'm not going to complain. The nut is crap. I'll have to see to that.

I've needed a guitar that could bring some sonic diversity, considering I'm essentially playing two Jaguars asside from slight variations. Here's hoping this is it.

the guitarist for the mistakens has the same guitar, i think he has had it for every bit of.... 3 years or so, maybe only 2 tho.
its a great lil guitar, a while back i had to do some fret work to it, the frets were a bit un-even from the factory, but all in all its still a great axe.

I'm a little worried about the pups sounding really bad but Jagmasters have taught me that I like shit pickups, so I dunno...
If I were to end up not liking them I'll just rip them out and come mooch you guys for replacements BUT I wonder how one would go about replacing this shit in hollow/semi-hollow guitars... I don't see any plates in the back for access to electronics. Anybody can enlighten me as to how this is done?

with my artcore i had to unscrew the pots and pull them out of the f hole.

getting them back in can be a right bastard.

putting stuff in I'd maybe lightly solder the pots and switches to the ends of coathangers. put it into place screw it down and the rock the coat hanger back and forth until the solder breaks.

I'm all for sticking my fingers in holes and all but this is kind of a pain in the scrote. Would routing out some wood from the back really have compromized the toans or is this merely a matter of cheapness?.

Ends, your idea seems sound enough to me. Maybe I'd forgo the yanking back and forth in favour of heating the coathanger with the iron intil the solder liquifies, though. This is one case where yanking may not be the answer.

So I finally brought this to the studio to plug it in and fuck me! The damn thing sounded MEGA.
Maybe it's because I haven't played a humbucking guitar in a while but holy crap did it ever kick the shit out my YBA.
The bridge pickup is very girthy sounding, if not a little lacking in the high end. All that sorted itself out, once I kicked the RAT in, though.
It was like BRRRRAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWNNNNNNNNNGGGGGG!!!!! Excellent note definition.

The neck sounded pretty but not extraordinary at clean levels. It was a little too quiet for me. It didn't take much to push my amp well into overdrive where it sounded very ballsy but it sounded MAGICAL with the Russian Muff engaged. Overall, I would say what impressed me the most of this guitar is how predictably it feedbacked. I may well end up swapping the pickups eventually but for now, this fills the gap my Jagmaster left me with, when I sold it. $60 brilliantly spent.
