I don't know...
I don't know, I would like having the original guitars, not clones or even squires. any good original guitars? sorry, this is an issue of mine. the only electric i have is a les paul copy and it caused me to disregard all clones. also, are there any good, cheap tube amps? sorry if it seems oxymoronic.
Re: I don't know...
Epiphone is awesome. Squier is awesome. If you thing yr getting some rare magic with an "original" guitar you're wrong, it's just the quality of the copy.Yarko wrote:I don't know, I would like having the original guitars, not clones or even squires. any good original guitars? sorry, this is an issue of mine. the only electric i have is a les paul copy and it caused me to disregard all clones. also, are there any good, cheap tube amps? sorry if it seems oxymoronic.

I tend to think that the modern Fenders are just copies though. The designs are fifty years old, and there are no secrets left in them. There's no reason to believe that Fender can build that guitar better than any number of other companies.
Also, Squier and Epiphone are more than just copies. Epiphone has always been about imaginative design, and have always offered models that Gibson don't. Squier have this same independence, although to a lesser degree.

Re: I don't know...
The freshest fender designs have come out of squier. The supersonic, the m-80, the venus, the `51... what the fuck has fender done differently in the past 20 years. They may not be up everyones alley, but they're at least trying new shit. Fuck fender. Epiphone gives us the wilshire... gibsone gives us a multicolored SG. Same thing there.BacchusPaul wrote:There are some awful copies out there.endsjustifymeans wrote:that statement is moronic. not oxymoronic.Yarko wrote:I don't know, I would like having the original guitars, not clones or even squires. any good original guitars? sorry, this is an issue of mine. the only electric i have is a les paul copy and it caused me to disregard all clones. also, are there any good, cheap tube amps? sorry if it seems oxymoronic.

The big names have gone stagnant. I'll buy squiers, epi's, rondos, xavieres etc. forever and be perfectly happy.
I have a gibson les paul that all told cost me about $600, and I have a squier M-80 that cost me $140, guess which one is getting more play time right now.

The current Squier line is very impressive. Strat-wise there are the Classic Vibe 50's Strat and 60's Strat. There the Duosonic, which is worth a go, as well as other, less ordinary guitars.Yarko wrote:Well, i'll look into some epiphones and squires. besides the squire teles and epi wilshire, are there any other ones worth checking out? I'll look at the new danos when they come out.
If it's something like a Fender you're looking for, I'm assuming you mean a Strat or a Tele. Either of those three guitars are very, very good, and will certainly hold their own against Mexican Fenders, perhaps even Japanese or American.
Personally, I love the 50's strat, and plan on buying one at some point. They have a lovely glossy neck.
