Fender '64 electric mandolin

4.000 $ their homepage says.

what actually annoys me that this guy demoes every guitar with the same amp sound  But in this case it's pretty funny.

I really don't understand the hate against him. Yeah he plays in shitty bands and such, but
the guy can play and he has some energy. He actually plays riffs people wanna hear.

don't know about his bands. and he can play for sure. my only point is that all the demos have the same guitar sound, no matter if he does an esquire, a jazzmaster or whatever.

But I like this little piece of wood that is more expensive than a decent car :D

I think it makes sense to use the same amp setting when you are demoing guitars. That way the demo is not colored by the amp. It is better to compare how they sound. It may get a little repetetive, but if you are looking to buy guitars, it is better to hear them in siniliar settings to know what they sound like.

He's not demoing a guitar. He's demoing a mandolin.

He's also playing the mandolin like it's an electric guitar.
It's cool but I kind of want to hear some mandolin style riffs on a mandolin.

There's no reason to expect traditional mandolin music to sound good on one of these things.
It's not a mandolin, it's a Fender electric solidbody 4-string mandolin. A specialty instrument meant to go after something traditional but in that Tele-like manner. It has no courses, you could say it's a fretted violin with equal accuracy.

Sorta like, with a few notable exceptions, hardly anybody who bought/used a p-bass when they came out were bassists beforehand, most were guitar players. Most bassists didn't know how to play guitar so they couldn't play the p-bass, because it's just a big 4-string guitar.
Those bassists who did convert (there's some high-profile ones) changed their style dramatically, writing the book on bass guitar playing in the process; you don't play a p-bass like a double bass.

I also bet that guy couldn't play anything on a mandolin to save his life, but if given the note names can make any fretted instrument go rawrrrr.
