Bugera Amp in Sounds Great Shocker! (Video Demo)

I hear what you're saying about that, but I actually think you could use this as a two channel amp with the settings I'm using (gain at 6 anyways).

Bear in mind I use a Jaguar, it's a trebly beast. Anything more balanced would eat it up. Maybe it is based on the Classic series, it sounds lovely whatever it is.

The Classic 50 we have at the studio is being played with a DiPinto MachV which sounds surprisingly close to my Jag (in certain settings). The sound you got out of the Bugera is strikingly similar to what I'm used to hearing from the left side of my rehearsal space. One way or another, we're using the thing as a pedal amp with remakable success. I suppose is exactly the kind of work you have in mind for the Bugera. I can see this working out fantastically for you.

What's the tube complement in the Bugera, BTW?
EDIT: Twin 6L6s... not a Classic 50 clone.

12AX7s and 6L6s in the power amp. They're responsible for the fat low end on teh Clean channel.

I believe the Classic 50 is EL84s?

MUSIC 123 had all bugera amps for 20% through today for pre-order. So this would be 280 USD (although you would not get it for a few weeks)

haha definitely. I think there are some practise spaces near my gaff we could go TURN UP aswell if necessary.

Hi watched your video on youtube, interesting stuff. Was looking into getting a Tiny Terror but the Bugera looks more like what I am after. I can hardly believe it costs so little though. There has to be a catch surely. Build quality, how is the thing made??? If this was going to be your only amp for lets, say, the next five years would you be happy at that thought and confident it will stand the course??

I can't answer that question as I've only owned it two weeks, but it seems fairly solid. The metal chassis does get a little warm after it's been on a while but that's not unique to this amp, a lot of valve amps do that. It's also not HOT like some amps I've played with.

I found a video on you tube of a guy who showed th guts of a Bugera 333xl and it all looked good. What's the manual like??? I noticed on their web site there is no info on the bias sheet settings for the V55HD. You, know it's a sad sign of the times when I have to base my purchase decision on advice and you tube videos alone as none of my local shops stock any of the amps I am looking at getting. All help and advice is most valuable!!!

The manual is ok but there's no bias information, I don't think they want people messing around and blaming them which is fair enough. Need to measure the plate voltage at some point to see what's up. I'm going to play with tubes over the next two weeks to see what I can do with the overdrive channel, the clean is perfect as is

It's such a lot of amp for the money....it's just so tempting!!! I just find it a bit odd that I can't track down any user reviews anywhere. Harmony Central has just about every guitar bit of kit under the sun but nothing on the V55HD. Bottom line, I have a tight budget, fell in love with a Fender Deluxe that I tested my Telecaster on a couple of years ago but that's out of the question. Was looking at the Orange as the best option (tested the Blackstar HT5 but wasn't for me) now the Bugera has raised it's head promiseing me everything I am looking for for a stonckingly good price and the only reviews I can find were for older models (pre the vintage range) that seemed to self destruct. All I want is to go to my local shop, plug in a guitar and have a fiddle!!! Sadly I think those days are gone for ever.
