I saw that listing earlier today and when I saw the buy it now price my first thought was 'I wonder whats wrong with it', then I saw the pictures.
Even if the routing were fixed the body would need a respray, thus destroying the entire reason for buying the guitar in the first place. If the price were a quite bit lower I might consider getting it, take the 2nd pickguard off, fill the route and throw a sticker over it.
I'm currious to see what kind of mess is underneath though.....

If i had the money i would probably buy it anyway. It is about a grand cheaper than normal because of that route.
I would find some way to fill the route and like Rod said, cover it with a sticker or some duct tape.
Even tho its been butcherd, its still a '69 Comp. Orange Mustang with matching headstock, and i would really like to have one.

I remember 10 years ago you could find compstangs for like $700 - $900. Now... jeez, you need to refinance your house to get one.
About 8 or 9 years ago a guy left his vintage Mustang & Morsite in my shop for like a year. So I sent the Mustang to Warmoth, they copied it and sent it back to me.... with the first Warmoth Blue Compstang But me being the nice guy I am (really f*cking retarded) I gave the Compstang to the guy and said here you go man. He took and sold it on ebay!!! I was annoyed, that I gave it to him, something special... he opted out for money. I should of kept it.

With that said, I am watching it and if the price stays below what it originally went for I'm going to get in on the bidding. :}
