Cars aside, well and mortgage aside, it's the most I've ever spent on something and it freaks me out.
It's definitely the most I've ever spent on a Luxury item.

Great score and it's awesome that you've been able to get a great guitar.

I know the feeling about putting money from the pedal builds to buy gear you want. That's what I always did when I ran the open mics. I always used the money to upgrade gear, look for bargains. Again, congrats..

Congrats Mike.

A good desicion I reckon, you may have used savings, but as well as being something you can use, it is also an appreciating asset, you aint gonna lose any money on it.

Looks really tidy

Puts my Mustang and Duo to shame.

I never really liked Jags until I played your CP, I may have been converted. If you can justify keeping the CP, I'd say do it, if you aren't going to gig the '66 then definitely keep the CP.

I'm still thinking each way but I think if someone here wants the CP then I'll sell it, but I doubt I'll ebay it. I'm fine with rehearsing with and gigging the '66. I'll just take care not to leave it unattended.

It's beaten up, the pictures soften all the dings I think haha. It's not terrible like gouges and stuff, but it has taken some whacks.

Looks/sounds awesome Mike.
Seeing it next to the CP reminds me of the fact that aesthetically I much prefer the original trem placement.
And as far as shelling out goes...it's highly unlikely it will ever go down in value, more likely much the opposite so good investment as well.

I'm not into Jags soundwise very much, but I hear and nearly feel the substance ofn this guitar in your demo ... that is real good Leo Wood, and also a beauty. Tuners look massively clean. Different from those on the Duo i got from Pat, that are also late 65. Apart from that the Duo tuners have a plastic head, is the metal different?

Well, great stuff for big money. But well worth it I guess.

Cheers man. I don't know about the construction of the tuners to be honest, but these turn like new - they're sturdy enough to give you confidence in them without being stiff, I was really pleasantly surprised. Jags definitely aren't for everyone, they're really idiosyncratic things.

I don't understand your comment. Do you think I didn't work for the money I used to purchase this guitar?
Do you think I will not be thinning my already modest number of instruments as a result of buying it?
Do you not think I waited until the right guitar at the right price came along to buy one?

Or is it because it's got a PCB in it that it sucks?
