Yeah totally - there are 2 things that are stopping me getting the Princeton right now:

a) The 12" speaker in the Deluxe over the 10" in the Princeton...

b) I don't think I could gig with the Princeton should I want to - it was breaking up around 5 or 6 on the volume with my Les Paul. And though I do want this amp for home use primarily, would be nice to have the option.

Whichever I chose, hopefully what I get for my Rockerverb will cover either.

some of the sounds he gets out of just a tele and princeton reverb are crazy. i didn't know he played on a few albums by cake too.

And so it is done...the Rockerverb is gone.
In comes the '65 Princeton Reverb.
I went back to Mansons to play on it again, and I just loved it so much I knew that that was it.
Got it home, and it is so sweet. Had tried it in the shop with my Les Paul, and back home it is making my Jag sing.
Really happy with it. Takes pedals really well.
That sweet warm Fender clean is just sublime. And the vibrato/tremolo inbuilt is lush.
Is a good day. Will take some pics when my camera battery is charged.

Ooooh nice one Thom - I'd like a Princeton one day too. What was the damage?

Was an even £700, so not too far off what I found on the net (£685 was the cheapest).
It's certainly a lovely amp and am very happy!

congrats, these are lovely little amps. Expensive, but good.

Demo it.

edit: I think it can be gigged. Use a single coil guitar, and it will break up much later / louder :)

Surely the power amp is what is saturating? You'd have to turn it up louder to compensate for the weaker pickups, making for more power amp distortion..
