My Pink Snowflakes setup: 2 of everything: WITH VIDEO!!

Post by light rail coyote »

HAHAHAHAHAHA EVERYONE WILL HATE ME

I use 2 amps, and they're huge. one is 350 watts!!!!!!!!!!

to top it off...............2 pedal boards too.

Image
sunn solarus W/ 6x10 and a hartke 350 watt bass amp into a 2x15 bassman cab

so I dont really need the extra volume, the sunn is 10x louder than I'd ever need. I just need crazy ass sounds for this band and having different effects going into each amp can come up with some crazy textures that are impossible with one amp. How does this work you ask

Image
why two pedal boards of course.

pedal board 1
Image

which will include the bass players digitech whammy it's all the pre and post effects loop pedals and the effects loop pedal with feedback looper.

pedalboard 2
Image
is everything in the effects loop. the direct out on the memory man goes to the hartke. I can kill the hartke by bypassing the effects loop. I can kill the sunn by hitting the tuner pedal. Some amazing sounds lie in this setup. I do really loath the idea of lugging this stuff around.

Anyway these guys have been on the search for a guitar player for a while now. I've jammed out with thems a couple times, and they're leaning towards me as the guy. They need someone by mid Oct cause they're going on a little west coast tour. So all you LA folk I may be down there at the spaceland on the 18th.

here's there myspace

i wouldn't fancy carting those cabs around, and it looks like it's going to take you a loooooong time to set up onstage. do your pedalboards fit in cases?

just out of interest, does splitting your signal with the memory man like that generate interference between the two amps or anything?

and can i think of any more questions to ask?

If you're serious about going on tour, you're going to have to leave 80% of that behind.

The other guitar player had WAY more gear and they toured half the country with it. t amps for every person. guitar player bass player and lead guitar. 6 fucking amps in this band!!!!?!?!?.

setup is actually going to be really simple, just lugging shit around. each pedal board fits into a case. I'll make a little video with some sounds for you all.

You're going to need 2 vans per person and 2 stages per person also.

The singer has a HUGE cargo van, I don't know where the people will go though. You should have seen their old practice space. one whole wall was completely lined and stacked almost to the roof with amps. it was kinda stupid. it was a crazy small room for how much shit they had. their now practice space is walking distance from my house. really hope this works out.

here's some stupid sounds that's made possible by this amp. Just me stepping on shit randomly pretty much. Stupid sounds is what they want, stupid sounds I will bring

If all they want is stupid sounds would it not be a hell of a lot easier just getting a synth with all the sounds preloaded, save a lot of hassle & space.

SHUT UP........dont tell them that.

well I guess they don't want just stupid sounds. What they really want me to be is the early guitar player for the flaming lips. noise and melody, chaos and beauty. A little of both

I think we all gathered from his general demeanour that Rob would play at Obnoxious Levels.
