It's official.
Epiphone reissued the Flying V and Explorer basses!
I played an explorer in GC recently, and it is seriously an amazing bass. Great tonal variation in the pickups which makes the selector switch actually worth two shits.

i dont think these shapes look good as basses.
to me, at least, the only shapes that look good as basses are precision, jazz, mustang, and the 4001.

Gibson EB0s, EB1s and EB2s are my fave basses ever, only excepting certain corner-cutting variations that came out.

Having said that a knock-off jazz bass will always do.
Still, I bet that sunburst EB2 up there is wild in the sack.
No love for explorers and mere tongue-in-cheek V-lolz.

I've always liked the look of the SG shaped one, until I played one last week. It felt like a toy. The neck was just so dinky. The chrome neck pup is one muddy fuck of a pickup too. The other pup sounded nice though.paul_ wrote:Gibson EB0s, EB1s and EB2s are my fave basses ever, only excepting certain corner-cutting variations that came out.

Det er mig der holder træerne sammen
I think vintage Gibson ones are great. Don't rate the newer ones "Gibson SG Bass" and certainly none of the Epiphone versions.
