actually, meant to say- this is only the third instrument i've ever bought brand new, out of all the stuff i have/have had.
one keyboard, one guitar, one bass.

Who's the ugly girl in the picture playing bass?
I'm after the VM fretless, and I can see myself with the CP 60's Jazz Bass.

The CP Jazz Bass as an abortion of Tort on it, it's the main reason I went for the P.

yeah, it's the sort of thing that didn't bother me in photos, but up close it looks atrocious .

Yep. You just can't bring yourself to pay for it.

Aye. I reckon I'd replace it with mint, or just leave it off, Jaco style. That might look awful on a plain white guitar though.
I really want a sunburst jag, so's I can play it with no guard, like Jaco played his bass.

i think squier do a no-guard black jazz bass.
not particularly pastorius-like though.
edit: in colour terms, that is.

I had my Jag like that for a while. Loads of people whinged about the wiring route but it never bothered me. Not having the scratchplate made it look really long, as well 0_o Might take it off again when I re-string it next. Oh, but lower horn didn't have any red from the sunburst ;/

I don't like that. It badly needs the control plate.
I'm definitely getting this, though. Full on Jaco copy:
