Recommend me an amp!!
Currently I have a 2x12 DeVille. It's huge, loud, sits on the clean channel 100% of the time, and completely not needed any more...
I'm looking for something along the following lines:
1) < £500 new or used.
2) 1x10 or 1x12 at less than 30W
3) TUBE!!
4) Reverb
5) Clean, clean, clean - I'm hanging on to my old Guv'nor and Huckleberry Fuzz so drive isn't a problem...
6) Tremolo is a bonus
There seem to be loads of 'boutique' recording amps around, which all look like 20W (if you're lucky) and £2K pricetag (matchless, cornford, I'm looking at you...) but there must be something else? Guitar-wise, it's Strat, Les Paul, Jag + pedals, no Slayer though..
Thinking
Fender Pro Junior
Fender Princeton RI (used, if I can find one)
MESA Subway Rocket (used...)
VOX AC15CC
Anything else?

Re: Recommend me an amp!!
Fender Pro Junior - way overpriced, not all that clean
Fender Princeton RI (used, if I can find one) - very nice, good luck with finding one though, I think they have slow turnover as they're lovely
MESA Subway Rocket (used...) - dunno
VOX AC15CC - is this all that clean aswell?

think holding out for a Princeton could be a very long wait, since they seem great. Shows how bad things are when you look at the new/used prices - 2x12 DeVille used is what £400 if you're lucky? New is £630 or thereabouts, Princeton RI new is £670, used is non-existent.
Argh.
Anything similar?

I got a Princeton RI recently and I have to say I think it's wonderful, I can see why people don't get rid of them too often.
If you can get together the extra cash for one, I bet you wouldn't be disappointed.
Or, as I was advised when I was looking...give Matamp a ring and see what they can do for you.

I think getting a Matamp combo that can do gig volume would put it past the <£500 price range. Probably more like £700 or so.
At some time in my life I'm going to spend an afternoon in the Matamp shop and try lots of things out and then have me build something that looks like the series 2000.

Shabba.
done and done.
DeVille sold over the weekend, managed to find the beans for a new 65 Princeton Reverb Reissue!!!!!
Volume less than 4 sounds like clean tonez heaven, bit of reverb, tremolo throws it into surf territory...
Vol up past 4 sounds bit gritty, light bluesy...
Up past 7 and you sound like 70's era Neil Young rock tone...
AND saltboost is still a permanent feature...
and no i can't ever finish a sentence without dot dot dot...

Marshall JTM series
I have the JTM 30 with 12" speaker. Marshall was trying to design an amp with a Fender clean tone with Marshall dirt channel. Can only find them on ebay.

This one is the JTM 600 with extension cab and two channels with separate eq.
Anyone know why Marshall stopped making the JTM series? I have read about some reliability issues, but they totally killer amps. I was lucky the salesman plugged me into one.
