EHX Nano series

Post by the isaac eaton »

I have been looking into getting a small clone or a small stone lately and that has led me to the nano series,

I was wondering what people think of them, anyone tried them out or have one? I have looked at some demos, The small stone nano seems alright but the clone seems noisy. Help shortscale.

Avoid Nano Clone, not fitting of the name. Hissy and shit and cannot be daisy chained.

Worst EHX release ever. Get a Small Clone. It's small. It's awesome.

+1 to avoiding the nano clone.
The nano stone is pretty good, you don't get the volume loss like some of the standard stones have. only reason i didn't buy it was that they did me too good a deal on the MXR phase 90 to refuse.

i have the nano small stone, i've played it side by side to the normal small stone, is the same thing, but it doesn't have volume loss, It's a coll pedal, i prefer it to the phase 90

I haven't played either of those pedals but I do think the EHX Nano stuff can be great sometimes. I have the Nano Doctor Q and it's awesome.

Small Stone nano is OK but my choice would be the full size Russian (can pick these up for £30 - £35 second hand). There is a drop in Volume with the Russian and it seems to take a couple of seconds to warm up when you first kick it in (operates fine after that). I just think it's a bit fuller sounding than the USA model. But I digress, the Nano Small stone works just fine, have not tested the Nano Clone but have heard they are noisy.
Don't look at me I'm irrelevant!

I am a huge fan of EHX, but the Nano Clone is annoying.

It's really confusing when you call a pedal a Nano Clone and its not the same as the normal Small Clone Chorus.

The Nano Stone is the same pedal as the Small Stone but in a smaller box.

The Nano Clone is not the same pedal as the Small Clone and doesn't even have the depth switch.

Most, not all, of the Nano series pedals are just a smaller factory form of a older larger EHX pedal. The new Holy Grail Nano and Nano Stone are good examples.

EHX needs to either add the depth switch and make it a full Small clone or call it something else to avoid confusing people. Lots of people probably think their buying the small clone in a smaller box.

To add to the confusion, EHX advertises this pedal as the same as the Small Clone Chorus

http://www.guitarcenter.com/Electro-Har ... 1170515.gc

If you read the description, it says the Nano Clone has a Depth Switch.

Can anyone tell me where the depth switch is? EHX just didn't follow through on this one.

I had this same problem when I was buying my chorus and it was really confusing when the product doesn't match the description

Pay the extra and get the Small Clone Chorus. ( or get Mike to build you one with the cool depth knob)

i have the nano lil muff, and the nano bassballs.
the bassballs sounds just like the bigger re-issue version that i got from shad, or rather from someone who had it after shad.
the small clone is generally pretty cheap and worth getting over the nano imo.
i gots three of them.......
