Rewiring a strat

Well, since I bought my Epiphone Casino, my stratocaster is rarely played, but its a good guitar..
But it has some wiring issues, I suppose, the tone controls dont really work and it has superb volume loss,
when You turn the knob a little bellow nine.. (dosnt happen linearly, or how to say, my english is weak).
And it has this strange S-1 switch witch I dont use, and 5 switching modes..
I want to tear it down to three pickup selector and maybe change the noiseless pickups to something more
twangy...but not too bright.
So what should I get? Any advices?

I remember reading that nobody made left handed pots anymore, and I thought that might have been it.

Where should I get the supplys, or there is a 'simple' solution.
I know Mike enjoyed the S-1, but somehow cant find use, and I dont like to mix pickups..
So I just want to make it simple..
Would it be a smart move to install Guitarfetish neovin ?
Or just go with some simple overwound?
And what pots do I need for tone/tone/volume?
What wires and stuff.. Im really inexperienced.

Why do you want to change the pick up selector to 3?
I only ask because the first thing I did when I bought a strat was take out the 3-way and put in a 5-way...

ive always enjoyed changing the components of my guitars to get different sounds,
its really pretty easy and there are a ton of walk throughs out there but for parts http://www.guitarpartsresource.com/guitar_index.htm
you can find everything your looking for there. for pots fender generaly uses 250k but you can use 500k or 1 meg if you want hotter output, they also sell any number of switches and selectors you could want, you would also need a capacitor a .022 is the fender standard but depending on what tone you want changes the value the standard wire they sell there will serve your soldering (you do know how to solder?? if not there are guides) needs. they also have a pretty wide pickup selection and even sell preassembled pickguards to save you the fun of doing it yourself. but you could also go to a site like http://www.musiciansfriend.com for more pickup options. there are a number of different wiring diagrams out there and if you buy a new set of pickups many of these include a set of wiring instructions but http://www.fender.com/support/ has a ton of wiring diagrams. if you have no experience with re wiring a pickguard and want to make sure its done right buying a preassembled one or geting all the parts and taking it to your local music store is recommended. but its my opinion that there are enough guides out there to help you through this process and the more you practice the better you'll become. you might even have fun doing it..

I dont really use the inbetween sounds..
Just like bride, middle, neck.
Well I can keep the 5way switch but a pickup change would be nice.
