so the plug for the strat cavity is here, the cyclone can start getting disassembled. i plan to leave the spring part of the cavity empty for a sustainer setup, i'm guessing i have to sand the other portion of the cavity back to bare wood (where the string block is)? also, i'll need to drill holes for the bridge thimbles/possibly mute, it seems that it might be partially on the new wood block and the body, i'm hoping this wouldn't cause issue.
the guard is in the UK i think getting re-cut for the telecaster plate, probably going to go with a standard jazzmaster upper horn cut, if the toggle switch hole is exposed i'll just cover it with duct tape. the thing already looks teh kurtz so might as well keep the aesthetic going.
for reference, current pick guard with extended upper horn...
stock jm horn...

decided against the stock jm style pick guard, and had an interesting day. my luthier FINALLY says "neck will be done today, i feel bad about how long it took, come by at 6 and grab it, no charge"
being out of work, obviously this is GREAT news, so i head down, see he is still working on it but notice it is still in one piece, which is good. so after waiting around for 2 hours, i get home to take some pics of it...
something look fishy yet?
HE FORGOT TO PUT THE FIRST INLAY IN!!!
AND he had my other b&b neck that he could have referenced at any time!!
so there isn't much size difference between the first and third inlay, luckily i have spares so i'll be going to another shop to get it installed and HOPEFULLY the neck will finally be done.
this project = hell

can't remember who sells them on offset but if you post up a thread someone will gladly point you in the right direction. i have four going on this thing and spent a whole day of dousing them in coffee to match up with the neck pickuphotrodperlmutter wrote:hell yes.

The OSG member that sells the NOS witch hats is the site admin Jay. He sells white and black. I hope he doesn't dislike me posting that here.
edit: finboy that sure is coming along great. too bad about the block error. Easy enough to remedy, but surely a pain in the ass.
