Recommend me a neck pickup
I bought my Jag HH already modified with SD Distortions (SH-6) in both positions. I like the bridge position, at first I thought it was too bright but now its growing on me.
But I just cant get along with the neck pickup. No matter what height I set the pickup to it just sounds like muck all the time. I know the neck is supposed to be bassier, but I find it completely lacks any definition. In the rythm circuit its even worse.
So I'm looking for something with more definition and less muckiness. Of course I could try the og pickup but having heard the dude on the SSdemos youtube video say that even the stock pickups are muddy in the neck position, I dont really think I want to.
So what are your suggestions shortscale?

This is factual information. I have a jazz in the neck and a JB in the bridge of my M-80, and I love them.Mike wrote:Seymour Duncan Jazz humbucker is an ace neck humbucker.

A dream or mean 90 would both be an excellent choice for the neck position of a double humbucker guitar if you're looking for more clarity/detail while retaining a good full, deep sound. I put a dream 90 in my SG and next restring the mean 90 I have is going in the bridge. They just sound cool.
Barring a single coil though, I wouldn't mind a Duncan Jazz either.
