Recent guitar snags

Post by Thomas »

Well it's not often that I post new gear in this section but I thought I'd share my recent addittions.

First we have the scumbag Epiphone SG with the good pups as seen elswhere on the forum:

And these:

The colour is metallic and changes from blue to green. It looks nice and retro with the black parts.

The '61 reissue has a super slim neck on it.

After seeing Mike and Pats D+B Jaguars I have come to the conclusion that I will have to get one of those at some point.

I've always love the SG and I've been looking for a good one for ages. I got the special cos I liked the neck and then found the 61 it has the perfect neck for me and after training up on the HH Jag it's very easy to play. It's the first time I've had a Gibson in ages, the others all ended up going because the necks were far too chunky.

The special sounds very diffeent so I'm thinking about keeping it too. Time will tell I guess.

Cor, never seen a blue special - that's very pretty indeed. It would appear that our tastes differ in necks - it's the big ones I like, the '61 is just too slim for me. That's the joy of the Tokai - it looks like a '61, but with a special neck profile. Anyhow, nice SG's. Maybe stick P90's in one? You could get a new pickguard cut for the Special with P90-sized routs. That's be lovely.

As an SG owner myself (epi, but still) those are some sweet looking guitars. The Blue Special especially.
