Lovely. I've always loved the way these things looked, but I couldn't get on without a neck pickup.

Ok i may get some criticism here but what the hell i'm a compulsive fiddler and can't help it lol, anyway i cut out a larger cavity today and repainted it, i don't have a router so i used a dremel router bit in well errmm a dremel, once the mounting ring is on you will never know, more pics later of the finished article.

Do whatever you want to make yourself happy, after all it's not like it's a rare or vintage instrument. I think you've done a good job, as you say, it'll look fine with the mounting ring.

Looks better than stock to me. Nice work!

Are you happy with the sounds (even though it's not the Gibson pickup)?

It's ok but you can instantly tell it's not as good as the Gibson, night and day springs to mind,

Might wanna do a push/pull for coil tapping? Give you a bit more tonal variety out of a single pup.

The Epi is a no then, Gibson is a yes. SeymourDuncan.com has wiring codes and diagrams.

It's easy as picking your nose. If I can do it, any one can do it.

I'm no use then to point you to a retailer, Mike'll be able to help I'm sure. You just need a 500k push/pull pot and a 4 lead humbucker and you're good to go. And whatever cap you're going to use for your tone control of course.

Alternatively you could forgo Tone all together and make your "Tone" control a spin-a-split. controlling how much of each coil comes through with a standard pot. That how sloan has his LP wired.

You did a good job there, nice one.

I just told Ceri that I'd ordered it and she was far more forgiving than I expected...
Part of the conversation went like this:

Mrs: "Can it do anything that any of your other guitars can't?"
Me: "Hmm...look at the lovely ferrules..."
