those do nothing for me. i like the neck, but that guitar looks like someone heated up a plastic strat and it melted.

I think I like the Seafoam green with the bound neck. I have never played one, but they look interesting. I am not a fan of the one volume knob, but you could put some mustang sliders to make it look nice. They also made 12 string versions of the Venus which would be cool. Fender need to reissue the XII through Squier or Classic Player. The Vista Series was an awesome example of someone at Fender trying something new. I would love to see a guitar shootout between the Venus and the Jag-stang. Courtney Love once said the Venus sounded better than the Jag-stang. Please do a You-Tube video demo when you get it back up and running. If you ever get rid of it, I might be interested. (Dibs)

I played one a while back - the neck is one of the greatest things I've ever put my hands on, women included.

I love the necks on these. Probably enough to shape a body for. The Venus is OK in my book though. (CL notwithstanding)

Great snag on the Venus, man. I've always been intrigued by the look of them, but have never got the chance to play one. Since the guitar is Vista series, the guitar looks verrry high quality and professional. Question, how do those stock ( or at least I'm assuming stock) pickups sound?

There is one here at the place I'm staying in Alameda, also surf green. The neck is lot different to other Jap Fenders I've played. Chunkier with much bigger frets, strat scale too. It feels very nice to play. I haven't plugged it in but unplugged it seems very good. It doesn't look quite so awkward in person but it's still a bit ugly.
