I work in a music store and I don't think I've ever heard anyone say "paff" in reference to PAF pickups. That's weird.

the dude was just trying to make a sale, 2 mins before that another guy was trying to sell it to me or james and said the exact same thing.
it played rather nicely, altho i still wasn't too keen on the neck shape and the nut width feel. it was still a nice guitar.
granted the amp kinda sucked ass, so therefor it sounded like ass.

They have at least two white Bass V guitars. I saw three in total (two white one sunburst) but rob(og) said there was a blue one somewhere. I wouldn't be surprised if they had all 300 in there somewhere.

I forgot to mention, it played like shit. The only reason to buy one would be collectability.

well, yeah.
i'd imagine because the model was an experiment.
but if it was at a decent price (it probably wont be) i might try to snag it up and see what i can do with it.

Well there are other short lived Fender things that are nice. The Bass V is just awkward. The neck isn't at all comfy and the proportions don't work very well. I think they look good, and it's not terrible but it's the sort of thing I'd pay $300 for rather than $15,000 or whatever they'd go for. If you're spending big money on a vintage guitar you could do a lot better, both in terms of investment and playability.

I had no idea they were that much.
although the 300 made does give me the idea of the price range for them.

I haven't a clue what the price is because they're so rare. There was a '66 strat next to the one I played, just against some amps in a corner. They weren't bothered about leaving pricey gear around so the fact it wasn't in a glass cabinet doesn't say too much about the value. Give them a call and ask what they want for it, but if you do ask how much they want for the LP/SG jr near the entrance to the CD room and let me know what they say.

that same LPB 66 strat would have been on the top row up by the roof at CME

it was weird....like someone painted it blue over white

That was sweet, probably like 3K though.

they said they wanted 400 bucks for a broke ass pa head. but they quoted rob 150 for it and he had no idea that the fuse was broken, there was a broken jack, and a broken pot.
i brought all of these things to the attention of the "jock" dude and he still wanted that much for it.
bullshit.
