A couple new(to me) guitars.

Talk about all other types of guitars. Jazzmasters and basses go here!

A couple new(to me) guitars.

Post by Richard »

So yesterday I found this Univox Deluxe in a thrift store. They wanted $175 for it. I managed to get it for 25% off, so it was $131 and change + tax. It's beat up, the nut was cracked in half, the bridge is bent, and it was missing one of the volume knobs. I took the nut off and glued it back together, then back in the guitar as a temporary fix to get it playable. It actually works the way it is, so if no problems arise I'll likely leave it. I had one of the knobs at the house so I just threw that on. It's playable, and for what I paid I'm thrilled. It's got a much nicer neck than my other Univox LP copy.

Next I traded my 73 Guild S100 for an AVRI Jazzmaster. I actually really love the Guild but I traded my old AVRI Jazzmaster for it and always missed it. This one's black, which I really don't like on JMs, but it's a nice guitar. I may try to trade it for one in another color. I immediately changed the Strat style knobs they come with for Bronco knobs. It's sooo nice to have an AVRI again.

My AVRI jazzmaster is identical to that one, except mine has white witch hats.

Those bronco knobs look amazing on that jazzmaster. Black and tort is also my favorite jazz color combination. Looks really nice.

Thanks for the compliments everyone.

Too bad one of you black+tort fans doesn't have an AVRI in another color so we could trade.

hotrod- Yeah, the Guild was lovely. I have a feeling I'm really going to miss it. I just desperately wanted another AVRI.

that's a nice univox. lovely avri as well. I do find the rhodes/bronco knobs a little strange on a jm, but whatever. better than the strat knobs at least.

Both look class, though I agree - Black+Tort= Fav jazzy combo.
