Yep. I've wanted a looper for years and I decided that I am going to buy one, today or tomorrow.
I'm not looking for anything special, apart from is being easy enough to use since I am useless. What reasonably-priced looper does shortscale recommend?

Easiest, most useful and most fun looper I've used, although it has been pointed out that I can be a smidge 'agricultural' at times...
EDIT: none over at HCEFX for sale at the mo, but this is a fair(ish) price for one of these.

did you get a looper in the end reece?
i'm watching a boss RC-2, an akai headrush and a SMMH on yeebay just now... i'd like to get one for under a ton if possible, tight-fisted bugger that i am. they all have one thing in common, namely, they all do far more than i would ever want them to. i just want a simple looping device, i don't need delays and modulation or any of that shit. although if i got a headrush or memory man i could get rid of my DD-3, i suppose.
decision, decisions...

I was thinking about getting one recently in a bid to make my solo rock sessions that bit more satisfying, I'm thinking instrument switching and all that shit.
I tried to use Thom's RC-2 but I could not figure that shit out, although Doog did:

I think I would probably be tempted to do something like the SMMwH as it has loads of other shit going on, but don't you have to hold the button to record? If so that is GASHTIME.

My heart's set on a SMMwH but, seeing as I don't have an amp at uni other than my amplug, pedal purchases aren't high on the list right now. If I'd remembered about the SMMwH I wouldn't have made the thread.
Tim did link me to a headrush for 100 plus shipping on HCFX. I've not read the thread since the post, so it might have gone, but it was in here if you want to check it out:

it really is basically useless in 99.9/100 scenarios.stewart wrote:i wish the hold function on the DD-3 was in any way useable, but it's proper rubbish.
i know what you mean about simple though. if i weren't set on the memory man i'd want a box with three footswitches labelled in massive text.
one that says RECORD, one that says BAHLEET and one that says MAKE IT STOP.

Just need to spend 5 mins with the instructions and then it's really easy and intuituve.Mike wrote:I was thinking about getting one recently in a bid to make my solo rock sessions that bit more satisfying, I'm thinking instrument switching and all that shit.

Haha, I like the RC-2 quite a bit too, though I've never used an RC-20. The built in beats are nothing too special but still really nice to have imho, especially when trying to write a song on your own. LONELY JAMS!
I've been borrowing one from a friend for a couple months and still haven't quite figured it all out, though I'm sure if he gave me the instruction manual I could master it pretty quick.
