I think Shellac are alright. I don't get why so many people think his bands are so amazing or original though.

amazing, maybe not, but original - absolutely. i've not heard much more abrasive music that i like, and steve albini's guitar sounds are different than anything else i've heard.

Seriously, Songs About Fucking is a perfect album. I can't even comprehend how someone could not love it from beginning to end.

Thing is though, I can't even imagine it with live drums. Without that soulless driving beat, I almost feel like it would lose some of the rawness and urgency.
