see the pieces of foam behind the bridge?
one thing that bugs me about the gents is the prohibition of lower fret access. epiphone had no problem joining the neck on my dot studio real low, and it was $150.
Ahh, yeah, I had to do a double take, but I see the foam now, I was just kinda skimming thru the topic. Cheers,
Yeah, I can vouch for the Electromatic. I got a 5120 a couple years back - it played beautifully straight out the box, but I made three changes:
1. swapped out the stock hums for filtertrons
2. swapped the stock bridge for a rocking bar bridge
3. got a gretsch decal off a guy, put it on the back of the pg and sprayed it silver
It's an astoundingly good guitar for hmmm...about £550 all in?

Can post pics later if anyone wants to see it.
hmm, maybe i could make a project out of all this, if i go through with getting one, at the end of the year (if i have the funds).
I wanted the Gretsch electromatic, but people here talked me off it.
So now Im happy with my Epiphone Casino, and looking in a direction of a jaguar, maybe.
But I played the one with DeArmonds 2000, and that was just superb..
Really nice guitar.
i know its not anything like the real thing but ibanez's artcore line makes great budget hollowbodies. if i remember right they had a model like the country gentleman. but again take note that i say BUDGET model (like $400 tops)
The Eastwood one has always interested me. And they are pretty cheap too. never played one though, but eastwood makes pretty good stuff.
sorry for digging this up, but was interested to find this demo of one of the eastwood classics:

i've been (half-assedly) considering getting one (after deryck tele, and CV tele), but i'm waiting for a good deal. $390 + S&H just don't sit real good with me atm.
