Guitarwise he exclusively uses Super Strats, i can confirm old Charvel, Ibanez but i dare say he's possibly used most from Aria Pro to Yamaha. I saw him with a Westone Thunder on some early 70s pictures and a black Les Paul copy of some sorts.
When i saw them this year i got up close, he had a black Charvel (model with Strat shape headstock (San Dimas?)) and 3 pickups in the colors of the Rastafarian flag, DiMarzio im guessing. He also had two Mesa Boogie stacks. I could'nt see his FX as they were behind a monitor but i heard Chorus and some long Delay on the Reggae stuff. He definitely split coils on the reggae stuff as well.
In all the old pictures he is using Marshalls, maybe JCM800s, his sound is'nt quite as saturated with distortion as much as you first get the impression.
On 'I against I' he think he uses a chorus/doubling effect on the solos (popular at the time).
But generally, i think he is one of them players that has most of it in his hands... he is a king of rhythm and the spontaneous short solo.
If you can find out anymore i'd like to know too! Also wtf is that Green Bass Darryl uses?
