should we start planning this yet? we'll have to keep tabs on noise levels, but if we stick them in the front rooms of the house, shouldn't be a problem.benecol wrote: I plan to bring it to hypotheticalmidlandsfest.

you know that on Fender/Marshall/Vox style tone controls it is impossible to boost the mids. It looks like you'd be able to but in actuality the level of the mids is never above the bass or treble freqs no matter what you set the controls to. The old Orange Graphic amps had a Hi-Fi style Baxandall tone stack that let you boost the mids (essentially by turning down the bass and treble and just turning up the volume). There was a site that had a cool article about this and showed diagrams and everything but it was on geocities (RIPFreddy V-C wrote:+1kim wrote:it's my weakness, it's why i fucking suck at mixing stuff..i boost mids on everything so it just becomes a soup. i don't have balance.endsjustifymeans wrote: Haha, I totally scoop my mids.

I always think that a guitar sounds better on it's own when the mids are super-boosted, so I just boost the mids on everything in every song and it ends up sounding silly.

cogito ergo sum...thing or other...

My Marshall JTM 30 has good Clean and Overdrive channels, so wouldn't have to have a OD/distortion pedal. (never too many OD pedals)
So I would basically have to pick my favorite modulation pedal. So I would have to go with the Small Clone Chorus. Modulation pedals rule.

I like it when I actually use it. Lots of Wah aficionados don't like the feel of it, but I have never used any other wah so it works for me. Definitely demo before you buy. It was noisy at first (even when turned off), but I turned the drive completely off and no noise at all. I don't save settings, but I like the variety of sounds it makes. I tend to use the Cry Baby, Morley or Vox settings. Not a heavy wah user, but I like it. I actually have been playing more with the auto Wah on my EHX Worm at the moment.Rayjaysonic wrote:taylornutt, I see a fancy Boss Wah pedal on your board. What's it like to use?? Worth the money?? Always thought they are quite decently priced for the amount of gizmos they offer.

I don't really use anything other than dirt... so either one filthy great fuzz pedal or a massive amp.
Maybe an overdriven amp and a booster? Along Paul's suggestion, that would be pretty versatile.
JCM 800 and an EQ pedal?
