I think that's exactly the appeal of a 12-string. It's that chorus effect. It's also the same appeal with large groups of string instruments. They are all ever so slighlty out of tune with each other and you get a huge, rich sound.jcyphe wrote:I found when I played 12 string acoustic I could never ever get all 12 strings perfectly intonated and after a while I liked that. I think that actually sounds attractive to the average person's ear. Maybe to somebody with perfect pich it would drive them nuts but your average person likes things detuned and imperfect without even realizing it.

I wish GFS could get mint pickup covers so their aged plastics aren't always mismatched and weird lookin. It's white with cream pickups/knobs or all mint, mint with cream is ker-azy.

I think I read somewhere that GFS was also doing Jazzmaster replacement pickups. Not that it's sorely needed in the marketplace because you can find cheap AVRI Jazzmaster pickups on eBay all the time.

I think they have a solid center block like a 335 rather than a 330/casino, still tempting though. I wish they didn't look so big on me.

How about $260?James wrote:I played some hollowbodies in a guitar centre somewhere and i loved the casino. Was so nice feeling compared to the others, and being fully hollow sounded nice enough unplugged.
If I could pick up one of the GFS ones for 200 and it was reasonably similar I'd be doing that for sure.

Really like the bridge of the telemaster, but I'm unimpressed with the neck. Want something a bit more biting and trebley up there. Maybe something with a more vintage sound.

I mean I want it more biting than it is. IT sounded kinda muddy to me. Once I throw heavy amounts of E.C. Thunder gain onto it, I'm almost sure it'll just sound like mush. I need a neck that'll shine through the noise. Something like the S.D. Jazz on the neck of my M-80. It's real lush and dark but it still maintains presence over the distortion. notes and chords are totally distinguishable.mage wrote:but neck pickups aren't biting and trebly. that's what the bridge pickup is for.
