My uncle's '64 sunburst jag. He brought over that and his '64 deluxe reverb. it was the first REAL electric guitar that i had played other than my squire strat. Playing a vintage fender jaguar set the standard for a good electric guitar to me. and now its sleeping under my bed
have you fixed the wiring on it yet?
because i remember you saying something about the wiring being messed up.
anywho, the guitar that started it all for me was the mustang, it's shape and look reminds me of an sg special in a way. the neck is great, and through a good amp it sounds awesome.
then after coming here, and watching mike's demo, it was the jaguar.
i really do want a mustang someday.

wiring is fine, just needed some friction after so many years of sitting there. the bridge pickup is pretty quite due to it being so low but i love the neck pickup so much i haven't bothered
The first bands that started to make me look at Jaguars were Sonic Youth and My Bloody Valentine. I was a huge metalhead in my early guitar playing years, but about a year ago I shifted from metal to alternative rock and indie music and found my way into the aforementioned bands. Even though SY use Jazzmasters a lot, I really liked the red Jaguar Thurston used, in addition to his Duo-Sonic and Lee's plethora of Mustangs/Duo-Sonics. In addition to Thurston and Lee, the tones Kevin Shields coaxed out of his Jaguars were awesome and really tempting. I found my way into Placebo and liked what Brian Molko did with his Jaguars, but the guy that really made me bite the bullet and buy my Jaguar was Johnny Marr. Since then it's my main guitar, and I plan on buying several Jaguars/Mustangs/Musicmasters/Duo-Sonics to accommodate my use of alternate tunings. Regardless, I have a feeling my first Jaguar will stay with me (hopefully) forever.
Mine was an Olympic White Jaguar that I played at GC. As soon as I sat down and started playing it I fell in love with it and planned on getting one until I found a Jag-Stang on Craigslist for $350. I love my Jag-Stang, but will probably still end up buying one of those Jaguars as a back up to my Gibby Les Paul Studio
this man and his band.
decided i wanted a mustang in red, went to the shop id ordered it to, they hadnt got it yet. ended up trying a jag they had on show. bought that instead.
all i want in the world now is a mustang with the matching headstock. i fear ill never find one.
