Recomend a good pedal for a 13 yr old rock chick!

Post by Dave »

Dudes a friend asked me the following:

"Need idea for xmas pressy for 13 year old rock chick - she`s into what passes for "punk" these days, just started guitar lessons etc.  Around the 40 quid mark - what would make me cool ?"

It needs to be available new from any Uk online store and easy to get. I'm thinking something cheap but well regarded so when she gets guitar savvy she'll be stoked to know she got something cool a second time round. So if you know something that would fit the bill I'd apreciate your advice.

Would have put this in the pub but will refer my mate to this thread to witness the collective shortscale wisdom: show a young lady the path to ROCK.

I'm quite an effects snob, but would always recommend a cheap little multi-effect like the Zoom 505 as a first pedal; you can mess around to your heart's content and see what effects suit you, then buy better versions of what you like. I'd built quite a stable of effects before I got shot of mine...

Likewise, I had the 707 and it was great at the time. Only just sold it recently.

SuperMetal is better than the UltraMetal. Crunchy and less metalzoney.

nay. Robog's P-90stang has me tapped at the moment. I'm desperate for it though.

Exactly what I thought. DS-1 for authentic rude tonez. Keep it simple. Multi-fx would probably be too much information.

Metal zone has a somewhat diverse eq section but too many knobs might throw her off. Pick up a behringer version for cheap or just a usual ds1 for the bruuutes
