Yeah,I know you are gonna say "Oh,another strat how boring" but I think it cool anyway. It's made in Japan circa 1970.I don't know what the body is made of but It weighs more than my Les Paul. Check out the pickup covers.Three way switch.

that is pretty cool. I like old strat copies. It looks like a Matsumoku guitar (feel like I've been saying that a lot recently...). those pickups look sort of unique. what do they sound like?

Nice strat, I remember a guitar world article with a photo of Jeff Beck playing a natural finish strat... FYI, the reason this may weight more than your Les Paul is most likely your Les Paul was made after 1977, most models made after 1977 are either weight relieved or chambered.

Thanks for the posts guys. So one at another forum also said this guitar was made at the Matsumoku factory. He said the neck plate was fom that factory. I also found this webside:

The New Unofficial VENTURA Guitar Page

My Les Paul is pretty heavy, its 57 reissue so it's not weight relieved or chambered.I think the body of the strat is maple so that is why it is so heavy.

Indeed.

I'm in Galway now so on an unfamiliar PC, but I have some catalouges and general info on my PC at home i'll try to post. I love the jazzbox, one of my favourite guitars ever.

I'm over in Ireland for a week. Mostly in Dublin and a few nights spent in Galway over the weekend.

Nice. We've been talking about getting a run down to Galway, probably during the Spring. Belfast's depressing as fuck (although the Christmas market's just started, which is nice. Hmmm, that means it must have been around this time last year that John was here. Time flies, eh).

I don't like the bridge pickup by it self so much, but the neck pickup is really nice.Nice and Hendrixy with the tone turned down with some dirt from my XXL pedal.

Seller added some photos today. That model is a little different than mine. I am fighting the urge not press Buy It Now.
