Replacing Stock Re-issue Jag pickups
Hi (first post).
Ive never tried replacing stock pickups on guitars yet, but I thought maybe id swap out the ones i got with my reissue jaguar. Id just like some advice on what to go for to get more output but a real vintage tone. Id heard about the seymour duncan sjag 1 in the neck, but it doesnt seem to have much in the way of good reviews.
So, more output, and a vintage sound. Neck and bridge. thanks.

I don't really think that SJAG-3s give a good vintage sound. Higher output - yes.
For vintage I would suggest Antiquities: LINK

Where are you based? Seymour Duncans are probably the most widely available pickups out there.crofty wrote:they look pretty solid. and pretty solidly difficult to get hold of.Thom wrote:I don't really think that SJAG-3s give a good vintage sound. Higher output - yes.

but he wants pickups, stewart. jos keeding! =]stewart wrote:scroll down this page, there's a bridge and a neck...
welcome to the board, crofty, and let us know how your upgrade goes. it should be fairly straightforward since you're swapping singles for singles and not altering the switching. if you do run into troubles, just holla back.
