A guy in my music class had the Telesonic. It was really shit which is a bit of a shame cos they look so promising.

Yeah it was (in my mind) the ultimate hybrid, a Tele with a chambered mahogany body with DeArmond pups to give that hybrid Fender/Gibson P90 joy sound. In reality it had a very pedestrian "bitsa" guita vibe. Not far enough one way or the other to be worthwhile. Rather that the best of the Gibby/Fender worlds it was a pale approximation of... neither of them. I can't remember where they were made but it played like a shitty Korean guitar.
In the spirit of fairness I've only played the one and it was as described above, so I could have played a bad un and the rest could be awesome. I doubt it though.

Failed from a sales perspective but surely not from a design one.
It's pretty hard to fuck something like this up.
