Ultimate riff power is yours.

This compact but powerful MXR guitar pedal is all you need to unleash the most devastating contemporary metal guitar tones ever heard. The FullBore distortion pedal turbo-charges your guitar signal with lethal amounts of ultra high gain. This is combined with a built-in Noise Gate to knock out the noise associated with extreme gain levels while also adding definition and tightness to syncopated metal riffs.

The effect pedal's extensive EQ controls, with Bass, Mid, sweepable Mid-Freq and Treble knobs let you sculpt your tone with fiendish precision. The additional Scoop switch provides an instant high and low frequency boost that'll rumble the room while also adding clarity. Available from MXR, the world leader in analog pedal technology.

MXR M116 Fullbore Metal Distortion Guitar Effects Pedal Features:

* Super high-gain distortion
* Three band EQ with sweepable mid frequencies
* Tight, fast, switchable Noise Gate for syncopated metal riffage
* Internal Gate Trigger control lets you set the Noise Gate's sensitivity
* Scoop Switch boost the highs and lows while the EQ stays active
* True Bypass with LED
* All analog circuit path

With its die cast chassis, robust stomp switch and carefully selected components, the MXR Fullbore Metal is truly a modern day classic.

I like the look of that. I love that it's plain metal and not painted black with skulls or stupid ass tribal designs.
I'm no metal player but made for metal distortions can still be real fun.

I'm curious about these, because wouldn't most 'metal' guitar players already be playing through some sort of high-gain amplifier? I know that a lot of those guys use something like a TS9 to tighten up their tone, but I fail to see how a pedal like this would benefit someone who already has metal gear.

What do you suppose it would sound like thru my rig? (Jazzmaster -> Twin Reverb)

Not really interested in something like this, but its fun once in awhile to bust out some Metallica/Slayer riffs.

edit: sounds like garbage

Reviewed in this month's guitarist - got a decent review.
Though said that it did metal, and nothing else.
