Other than a humbucker and a single coil you'll not be able to get much out of that. It's a fairly safe assumption it's not a stock single coil because of the pole pieces.

Who is the guy? You'd be better off trying to search with that information because both pickups look very generic and could be almost anything.

Look more towards his amp and effects- they'll be making the biggest tonal differences.

Even with the exact rig you still won't sound like him. Like benecol said, it's in the fingers. A player's touch is often very major in the resulting tone. Don't mean to be an ass, but it's true.

I should point out, I was being quite sarcastic.

You may have been sarcastic, but you were quite right. Touch is big thing for tone, unless your rig is all full of fx.

Well it certainly matters if you can't play for shit.

Tone is in the fingers in as much as you have to be able to play the guitar as good or better than the guy you're trying to emulate.

Why don’t you go to their myspace page and ask him he might answer. Get it straight from the horses arse mouth

The touch thing also depends on the music you're playing. With jazz and blues it makes a huge difference.

If he’s a decent enough guy he’ll give you an answer. I’ve had a few questions answered this way.

if by "fingers" you mean to say one's entire approach to their instrument, I will agree.
I'm a hamfisted rhythm player, my fingers just mash some chords, it's more like my arms that do all the playing.
