Get the proper pickup. Bridge pickups are wound hotter to compensate for lack of string vibration and volume near the bridge. Are you noticing the neck being louder?
Yes I have to lower the neck pickup and raise the bridge to get an even(ish) sound
I'd get it changed then really. May as well get what you paid for and be totally happy with things.

Yep it’s their mistake. I ordered a Dream 90 neck, the box says Dream 90 neck and the pickup says Dream 90 Bridge. My mistake was not checking the bloody thing before I installed it (Cock!)

Right, I’ve made an arse of this wiring somewhere along the line. The humbucker i removed only had 2 wires (white and silver) and the p90 has 3 (white silver and red) I’ve swapped out white to white and sliver to silver on the volume pot, where should the red wire be soldered to?
Mike wrote:Absolutely, or to the grounded volume lug. The other one goes to the toggle switch.
This is how I’ve wired it, I just soldered the new white and silver wires where the old ones were, and soldered the red onto the back of the volume pot alongside the silver one.
I found the problem was: my dodgy soldering on the silver wire, chunky fucker kept breaking free of my shit soldering efforts when I was manoeuvring the volume pot through the F hole. Had a look at some how to solder PROPERLY tutorials on you tube and the jobs a good un
and when they do get back to you (it will probably be dave), expect courteous service. they're great. they made a similar mistake on shipping out my pickups. the bridge pickup i ordered came in a box labeled neck, but never took the thing out of the package until later. when no-questions-asked replacement showed up a few days later, turns out they had indeed put a bridge pickup in a neck box.
sounds like they're having QA problems in the packaging dept over there at guitar fetish. probably some n00b they hired just needs to word harder. even with that, though, the pickups are inexpensive and great sounding. combine that with the excellent customer service, and i'd still recommend them to anybody.
I hope it gets sorted quickly, only problem with buying stuff from abroad is if there is anything wrong with the order it has a long way to go to be exchanged. And I’m an impatient fucker at the best of times.

This might sound petty, but did they pay the shipping costs for you to return the pickup they sent by mistake?
