Small Clone problem?

Post by Viljami »

So I got my EHX Small Clone some time back. First it worked like a charm, except..

It won't work when I plug it into an external power supply!?

Why oh why?

Is it broken, or..

a)I'm a n00b who is clearly not worthy of it (that's given)

b)I should probably leave

c) SLOAN!!!

It looks fine on the inside, no wires unsoldered etc. Very clean.

This just happened to my RAT, and I sent it back. They gave me new one for free. And a t-shirt.

Should be the right adaptor, although...
I better check.

I sure hope it's not broken. I doubt that EHX will send me a new one WITH TEH MUNCHIES! so jealous.

Has it ever worked with that adaptor, or is the adaptor new, etc?

EHX has a 1-year warranty I think, if it is broken.

Anybody have a idea what the polarity on these is? No help from EHX user manual. And whether it is a AC or DC since it says one thing on the site, and the other on the manual.

God damnit this is annoying.

It will be 9V DC definitely, and I believe centre negative. It's a 3.5mm plug ala headphones.

Related Question: Why does the Big Muff and the Small clone Chorus use that 9V adaptor that looks like a headphone jack?

It's just a different standard; ProCo also use them and DOD used to.

yeah, the old style classic sort of EH/proco adaptor. i prefer them really. i think the success of boss pedals ended up setting some sort of standard with the centre neg. which EH is catching up to with its recent pedals.
