Cheap Ugly Super Sonic on the Bay!

Post by taylornutt »

I have been looking at this guitar on the bay

On Dec-04-09 at 12:47:20 PST, seller added the following information:
this is actually a jag-stang, the neck is a lefty super-sonic, the body is a lefty jaguar and it has all been flipped so it is right handed. the electronics are all from a stratocaster.

The person selling doesn't even know what the guitar is. I thought it might be worth it to restore, but the previous owner really butchered it up. It would require new pickups , pickguard and a paint job. It wouldn't be too hard to paint it white ( my 2nd favorite supersonic color behind blue sparkle.) Of course I have never painted a guitar.

Not sure it would be better to wait for another one to come along.

I've voted white.

Don't think much of the sparkles on Supersonics, & black's a bit dull imo.

If this is indeed a lefty Jag body, he did an awesome job at filling the control cavity.
Kudos on FILLING the original arm cuttaway and cutting the new one, too! (??)

It's not. the seller puts all the Supersonic stat on the auction and it has a Supersonic neck, which has a unique bolt pattern. Probably trying to gin up interest.

It would actually be hard to make it look worse than it does now, though. I say go for it.

Do Competition Orange Super Sonic!

I just got a Jaguar AVRI for a sweet deal, so I am not really in the market, but it would be cool. to have a custom Super Sonic. I have been interested in learning how to paint guitars and was hoping to get some help from you guys. I had a Vista Jagmaster neck so I know how cool they are. Competition orange with a stripe and black humbuckers on a white/pearloid pickguard would be cool. or Maybe seafoam green. Love that color. Have to see if I can make it work. I once missed out on a Silver Sparkle Super sonic for $225, so I am definitely looking for redemption.
