It must have been fate, I was looking for a good deal on this amp and then found one for sale only a couple of miles from my house. It sounds great, nice warm and clean sound and has reverb too <3
Does anyone else have any experience with this amp? Anything to look out for?
I'm not sure what to do with my old amp, I've had it listed for sale for about 3 weeks and have only had one enquiry about it. It's a 80W Peavey bandit from 1990, I listed it for £100, then £75 and then £50 and still got no replies. I'm thinking I might have to just scrap it since it weighs like 30KG's
They look great, i nearly bought one some years ago but i read a lot of people complaining about them then some 'expert' said they are prone to overheating. Something to do with the valves location melting the pcb. That design should have a cooling fan (lol) apparently.
Still, nice score, i'd still buy one at the right price.

Dunno, not heard anything but good stuff about them.
The only amp i've seen with a built in fan was a Seymour Duncan amp.

Marshall AVT 150H, too.
Yeah my classic 50 has one as well. I guess a lot of amps try not to use them since it would make noise while recording. I'd rather hear a slight hum than cook my amp though.

I nearly bought one, too last year, but then got a better deal on a Fender. These VC amps are pretty good, and very versatile. Some say they get a lot better with a replacement speaker, though. But at that price, even that would be within budget I guess
