'65 ri all the way.
I owned a '73 ri about year back which i think is a identical to the '69 ri apart from the finish.
The '65 i played just felt like a better guitar. Better neck, better pups, bonartown tuners and i loved the slab body.

i must admit i find it quite hard to tell the difference. apparently this is both side by side:
i've seen vintage sonic blues that look grey and daphnes that look green. fucks wi' ma heid.

Yeah but they mess the colours around, Fender now calls this Sonic Blue:

Understood. Then Amy's '65 was Daphne and not Sonic.
Still looks pretty close to me.

when it comes to features and equipment the 65 wins hands down for me, but i love the contours the 69 has...just like my mysterystang!
