What guitar gear should Santa leave for me this year?
I finally got my bonus check from work. Between my Paypal account and my check, I have about $230 I can spend. Here's the possible options.
Voodoo Lab Pedal Power 2 $170 (go with my new Pedaltrain Pro)
Bugera V5 $150 (Nice Practice/spare amp)
MBM Custom Pedal $180 (for Saltbreaker/Saltbooster Goodness)
MBM Fuzzface $90
My only hesitation on the MBM Pedals right now is I know Mike appears swamped right now with orders and it maybe a while before he gets to me. I am not really chasing any guitars in that price range. I am paying private school tuition for my daughter, so I am trying to make wise gear choices since extra cash is scare for at least 6 months. I am hunting to find a Pedal Power 2 used so I could maybe swing a second purchase. Advice?

If you are really set on the pedal power 2 as your main power supply go for it. I personally would go for the 1 spot combo pack, its $35 and will do all your power wants. its small and you could easily find a way to get it on your board. Im getting a pedaltrain pro for Christmas and im going to mount a power strip on or under my board and just run my 1spot with it. And later im going to add a 2nd 1 spot too. (as Im going to have more than 8 pedals to power.)
and then you could get the little bugera if you wanted too.
1 spot!!

Congrats on the Pedaltrain Pro. I have a 1Spot, but I have lots of different pedals with different power needs. Here's my video of me transfering my stuff to the Pedaltrain. I am currently trying several configurations before I commit to Velcro.the isaac eaton wrote:If you are really set on the pedal power 2 as your main power supply go for it. The Wiggler will still need the wall wort. The Worm is 24, so it would take 2 slots set to 12V each. I like how it mounts below the board. The rest of my pedals are pretty standard.the isaac eaton wrote:the only weird power pedals I have are a small clone and a DL4, and my 1 spot has adapters for both of those. But i forget you have like 24V tube pedals!

Buying a big, expensive power supply like the pedal power 2 is not nearly as exciting as getting a fuzz or something else, but its TOTALLY worth it.
When I went from a one-spot to the PP2 it reduced some noise and gave my board an "OK I am ready for anything (as long as its not AC powered)" feel.
If you play in lots of shifty clubs with bad power, its worth it. I've never heard of one going bad either so once you buy it, you are done.

I got a used Bugera V5 for $95. I almost had a Pedal Power 2 for $50 but it already sold. I am waiting to hear about another one.endsjustifymeans wrote:do bugera V5. you won't be sorry.
Combo MBM is a close second.

After a little British pound to Dollar calculation, I figured out the MBM Combo pedal is the same price as the new Voodoo Labs Pedal Power 2. I am checking out some used models, but I am only going to buy the pedal power if I can get a decent deal. Mike's pedals are really nice and it's hard to resist going ahead and placing the order for it. The Pedal Power is more of a need, but I want the MBM pedal. Tough Call. I will get them both, just a question of which first.

I almost bought a pp2 a few weeks ago but went for the MBM combo pedal. Brilliant thing it is. Still could really use a pp2 but I'm fresh out of a job and should be saving any Christmas money. Hopefully things will turn out well though. Or if I can find one for even under $100 I might have to scoop it up knowing that I will buy one down the line anyways.
