if yours has the vista knob placement, i'll buy it from you. y'know, to put toward the purchase of a new one.

personally, i wouldn't paint it, shit's almost rare.

EDIT: for knob placements

vista (like a jazzmaster):

china-town (more jag-ish):

i'm looking for one to build with different humbuckers, but would prefer tort.

Yes, you can paint it. It might wear off, though.

To be safe, I would use Krylon Fusion. If you want extra protection, get some polyurethane clear in a spray can. Minwax makes some in satin, semi-gloss, and gloss.

60 bucks for a new one? who is selling them at 60 bucks? they are making alot of dough off of people then.
it would be easier to buy one in my opinion.
please tell us what year and version of jagmaster it is. i have the first 25.5 scaler version, and the convertion guard templates, but not the vista series stuff, so if its one of the latter i could make you a guard, and it won't cost 60 bucks.

I have tried this with tinted clear to make a white pickguard look older, I scuffed the plastic to try and let the paint stick better but it still came off in the picking areas within a month
