Squier Vintage Modified Tele bass

meaning this bad boy. Looks sweet, but...

Any opinions? I played a Squier Classic Vibe p bass, and it was of surprisingly good quality. I'm thinking about getting a second bass somewhere during the next year and a Squier wouldn't make a huge dent in my wallet. The humbucker is a plus. Unless it's utter crap.

i'd go with the classic vibe, personally (and i did!).

unless you have an aversion to glossy necks, that is... i felt the VM necks felt a bit unfinished, and they seem a bit... flimsy. not bad for the price, by any means, but i'd say the CV is better.

actually, i can put it more succinctly- the VMs feel like £200 basses. the CVs feel like £400 basses.

i liked that bass, dddave has one and let me play on. the styling is awsome, and his felt really good. i can't really remark on the sound tho. I did plug it in, but it was at low volume and we were talking and having a good time, it wasn't like i was really trying to play it or pay attention to the sound of it.

I have a vintage modified p bass(not the tele bass), that i bought to play in a punk band where i knew i'd be throwing it around and dropping it and such.
and it's really worth the money, and i'd feel bad dropping a cv p bass.
it feels good, sounds good and everything. and now that i have a proper bass amp makes it even better.
if you're looking for an upscale bass I.E. fender quality. then the cv's your best bet.
mine must of been a good one, because other one's i've played weren't teh best of quality.

that picture was taken back in the summer.
and the finish has held up well, it's been through alot of abuse.
i would recommend these but play it first.

I really wanted one of those VMs, but have now shifted my affections to this beauty:

I can't speak for the tele bass since I've never played one, but the VM p bass is pretty nice for the money. It sounds great and looks awesome. It doesn't feel like it's of much higher quality than the affinity p bass though. The CV basses I've played all sound, feel and look amazing! for only like $80 - $100 more for the CV over the VM, I would definitely pick the CV.

OK, I'll have to try to get my hands on a tele bass too, the CV was great. Thanks for the opinions, and keep 'em coming.

Oh it really does need the tint IMO. I wish they would have put that on the CV Duo, since they have it on the other models.

Black pickguard is hawt, too.
