Clean Boost Pedals!!

For parts that I play clean in my band on higher frets I find that I need a little more sound if I use my bridge pickup. So i turn on my booster in my COD pedal which is just a EHX LPB-1 it adds a little grit but for the most part stays perfectly clean, but I want to use that booster for solos and such, and just have a pedal devoted to doing just clean boost. My question to you guys is what is the best and cleanest clean boost pedal? I dont really want to get an EQ pedal either.

Saltbooster! Which is basically a salty lpb. The SHO section in my box of cake is a great clean-ish booster with lots a volume available. Goes great with fenders

I really dislike my LPB-1. It adds a ridiculous amount of low end, when in turn makes the sound louder than you want, and completely colors your tone. Least favorite pedal I own.

I have 2 boosters, a MBM Saltbooster and a Zvex SHO. Both great pedals. The SHO I find adds a nice bit of sparkle whilst the Saltbooster really fattens up the sound and really sounds massive. I'm continually swapping between the two depending on what mood I'm in.

clean sparkle is what im after, Super hard ons have been looking good, might get a clone.

For clean boost, an LPB-1 or SHO won't cut it.

MXR Micro-Amp is cleaner (lurve these) or the AMZ Mosfet Boost (which is very clean, but a dirtied-up version is the Chili Picoso).

Just my 2 penneth worth, but I personally prefer a very low gain OD with the volume jacked as a boost to a 'straight up exactly as the same but louder' kinda boost pedal. First the Nobels ODR-S, now the MBM Box Of Rock serve my needs veeery nicely.

That added bit of a gain just adds some fatness to WIDDLEYS, and also having control over the EQ also makes for some niiiiiice sounds.

Have you tried angling your pickups a bit so the "weaker" treble strings are closer to the polepieces, and therefore a similar volume to your lower strings?

I really need to do that with my neck pick up. But currently its out of commision due to my faulty switch in my guitar only my bridge pickup is working. Can you really angle dogear p90s? I would try it if I could. But my neck pickup is so low into the body I have to use a booster to get it up to unity volume. I need to raise it, But im probably gonna just be replacing it with another p90.

Ill check out the MXR micro amp too.

Ill check out the MXR micro amp too.

You could put a few washers under the screwhole, maybe? Or just set the treble string polepieces higher (presuming they're adjustable)? There's gotta be a way around it.

I dig my MXR Micro Amp. Great little pedal that I feel only enhances the tone and volume.

Good experience with:

MXR Micro Amp
ZVex Box of Rock (dedicated boost side)

Depending on your needs, a volume pedal might be better though.

I picked up a lpb-1 today for cheap. I haven't been home to plug it in yet but I'm pretty excited to try it out. I'll see about doing demo comparing it to the sho

I bought the lpb-1 off Reece shortly after that demo. After comparing them two for myself the lpb-1 sounded muddy/dull in comparsion.
Still an alright pedal though.

I'll look into trying out a saltbooster eventualy, im a good fan of the SHO. The micro amp is an entirely different beast though, I'll look forward to am demo!
